arise from the
lake of rot

the moon was far across the forest,
sieving through the branches and peering
into the green eyes of the wolf,
who lay there, tormented by his howling.
and the eyes of the wolf
beat back with their greenness
and peered into the very heart of the moon,
and tangled moonbeams dangled
from the trees and branches,
blood dripping down from white and green.
